The acrylic construction of this bathtub makes it lighter than a standard cast iron tub, making it better suited for upper floors, or older houses where weight may be an issue, yet does not compromise on durability. Acrylic tubs are extremely durable, and will not chip like the porcelain in a cast iron tub if something heavy (such as a candlestick holder) were to drop inside.
